Oscar Awards 2010


The 82nd Academy Awards (Popularly known as Oscar Awards) ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, honored the best films of 2009 and took place on March 7, 2010, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.
List Winners of Oscar Awards 2010:
1.      Best Picture: The Hurt Locker.
2.      Best Director: Kathryn Bigelow – The Hurt Locker.
3.      Best Original Screenplay: The Hurt Locker – Mark Boal.
4.      Best Sound Editing: The Hurt Locker – Paul N.J. Ottosson.
5.      Best Sound Mixing: The Hurt Locker – Paul N.J. Ottosson and Ray Beckett.
6.      Best Film Editing: The Hurt Locker – Chris Innis and Bob Murawski.
7.      Best Actor: Jeff Bridges – Crazy Heart.
8.      Best Actress: Sandra Bullock – The Blind Side.
9.      Best Foreign Language Film: El Secreto de Sus Ojos (Argentina) in English –The Secret in Their Eyes.
10. Best Art Direction: Avatar – Art Direction: Rick Carter and Robert Stromberg; Set Decoration: Kim Sinclair.
11. Best Cinematography: Avatar – Mauro Fiore.
12. Best Visual Effects: Avatar – Joe Letteri, Stephen Rosenbaum, Richard Baneham and Andrew R. Jones.
13. Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz – Inglourious Basterds as Col. Hans Landa.
14. Best Supporting Actress: Mo'Nique – Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire as Mary Lee Johnston.
15. Best Adapted Screenplay: Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire – Geoffrey Fletcher from Push by Sapphire.
16. Best Animated Feature: Up – Pete Docter.
17. Best Original Score: Up – Michael Giacchino.
18. Best Original Song: "The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)" from Crazy Heart – Ryan Bingham and T-Bone Burnett.
19. Best Makeup: Star Trek – Barney Burman, Mindy Hall and Joel Harlow.
20. Best Costume Design: The Young Victoria – Sandy Powell.
Points to be known between the Movie ‘Avatar’ and ‘The Hurt Locker’:
·        The Hurt Locker bags six awards out of nine nominees and Avatar bags three awards out of nine awards.
·        Kathryn Ann Bigelow, first woman to win Oscar Award for Best Director.
·        Kathryn Ann Bigelow(America), ex-wife of James Cameroon (Canada).
·        The Budget for the Movie ‘Avatar’ is $237 million(Approximately 1200 crores).
·        The Budget for the Movie ‘The Hurt Locker’ is $11 million(Approximately 50 crores).

67th Golden Globe Awards 2010:
The Golden Globe Awards are presented annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) to recognize outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry, both domestic and foreign, and to focus wide public attention upon the best in motion pictures and television. 
1. Best Film (drama): Avatar.
2. Best Film (musical or comedy): The Hangover.
3. Best Foreign Language film: The White Ribbon (Germany).
4. Best Director: James Cameroon (Avatar).
5. Best Actor (drama): Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart).
6. Best Actress (drama): Sandra Bullock (The Blind side).
7. Best Actor (musical or comedy): Robert Downey (Sherlock Homes)
8. Best Actress (musical or comedy): Meryl Streep (Julie & Julia).

The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence (also referred as ET Awards) are the awards conferred by The Economic Times in the field of business, corporate and government policies, economies in India. It is an annual awards, conferred in various categories.
