55th National Film Awards

The National Film Awards is the most prominent film award ceremony in India presented by Directorate of Film Festivals under Govt. of India.The Awards were first presented in 1954.The National Film Awards are presented in two main categories: Feature Films and Non-Feature Films.

55th National Film Awards for 2007 were announced on 07-09-09(Monday).About 102 films and 106 non-feature films were considered for the prestigious National Awards.Tamil actor Prakash Raj has left behind Bollywood biggies like Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan to claim the prestigious National Awards for 2007 in Best Actor category.
