  1. IT giant Infosys Opens 2nd Global Education Centre(GEC) in Mysore inaugarated by Sonia Gandhi,also it is the largest corporate education centre in the world.
  2. Doordarshan celebrates 50 years in Public Broadcasting.
  3. The government issued bonds worth over Rs 10,000 crore to three oil marketing PSUs to compensate them for the losses incurred on account of selling petroleum products below market price.While bonds worth Rs 6,207.06 were issued to Indian Oil Corporation, Rs 2,033.99 crore worth bonds were given to Hindustan Petroleum Corp and Rs 2,065.28 crore bonds were given to Bharat Petroleum Corp.
  4. Mundir Sherazi won the sub-junior boys billiards title at the ongoing National Billiards and Snooker Championships.
  5. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) would launch Oceansat-2 satellite, which would help identify potential fishing zones and in coastal zone studies, on September 23.

  8. Wipro has won a three year outsourcing contract from All Nippon Airways (ANA), the first airline in the world to procure the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

  19. Venezuela signed a $20 billion and $16 billion investment deal with Russia and China (respectively) for oil exploration in the Orinoco river.
  20. Goldman Sachs has estimated that India will require $1.7 trillion in financing its infrastructure needs over the next decade.The Indian government's projection for the 11th Five-Year Plan for 2007-2012 envisages $500 billion in infrastructure spending.
